A DREAM CATCHER
The very first items I could think of to hang on my walls are these cute dream catchers. They look so cozy and lovely - a perfect way to give the more interesting vibe to your home. These goodies are hand made ones and I will definitely share a tutorial on how to make them!
This is a classic solution. If you like drawing, probably there already is a wall full of art in your home! If not, you must create one. The best thing about this is the ability to mix various different artworks together and experiment with different frames. They can give the whole other feeling. Try contrasting colors or just mix the textures. I went for a clean, white look.
A MOOD BOARD
Basically, that's art without any frames, just taped to the wall with anything you can find. I used colorful washi tape for this. The best part about mood boards is the simplicity and randomness! You can display your own works, collages from journals, various inspiration scraps, book pages, art prints, calligraphy illustrations and so much more... It is easy to get rid off and modify/change whenever you want + you don't need any holes in a wall for hanging!
As I mentioned before you get this FREE CALLIGRAPHY ILLUSTRATION to download and print. Use if for your mood board or journal. All of us needs some inspiration!
EMBROIDERED WALL HANGINGS
If you are into crafts I would recommend to go beyond the usual art that can be hanging in the number of homes. One of the ways to create something unique is to get crafty and use your skills! I was really fired up to learn embroidery and created this little wall hinging that now decorates my wall. I know that it looks premature, but everyone has to start somewhere!
So to summarize my list would be:
- Dream catchers
- Framed illustrations
- Printed artworks
- A moodboard
- Embroidered art
- Wall hangings
Hope this was useful. I will update this list with some DIY tutorials if you are interested!
Are any of these items already hanging on your home walls? If not, how do you decorate? SHARE YOUR IDEAS, it would be interesting to discuss!
