Drawing a post card | Process

Fun and easy drawing project. Creating a post card.

Today I want to share a process of drawing a postcard! These houses and flowers came together when I was thinking about balance. Harmony between city and nature is always an issue. It's being talked over and over everywhere on the net.

I imagine a beautiful and colorful life in the city where all people could be as much near nature as possible. Bright colors, blooming flowers and green leaves all around the big houses. Of course fluffy pink clouds are also on the list in my imagination!

All the process was simple and followed by simple steps:

  • making a pencil sketch
  • adding a few watercolor layers

It is best to start with lighter colors and go darker after each layer dries. This way you will have more control over the end result!

  • waiting for everything to dry completely
  • adding details with pens

I love using uni pin fine liner pens for doodles like this. They are waterproof, rich in color and available in various different sizes.

I like the soft and pastel looking end result. This post | gift card traveled to its new home and hopefully found a good place to hang there!

Are you making cards for gifts or you buy ones?
